About Rose
Hello! I’m Rose, a lyric coloratura soprano with a deep love for the operatic canon as well as a passion for creating and performing original theatre. I sing musical theatre and operatic repertoire, and have done acting and voiceover work. I committed to singing later than some, after studying Philosophy at Oxford and King’s College London, and working in a variety of fields. This academic and professional grounding informs my fascination with meaning, honest communication, and the human voice, and influences the political motivations of my art. I am a firm believer that opera is for everyone, and that it comes into its own in close collaboration with other art forms, performing and otherwise. I am therefore passionate about interdisciplinary and cross-genre work.
Please see below for details of my prizes and performances, past and future.
Original Projects
In 2023 I worked with a dancer and director to co-create a choreopera, and this spawned my passion for creating original pieces.
I have written the libretto for a song cycle that composer Marco Galvani has composed for my voice. We are currently in the stage of rehearsing the song cycle, which we will premiere as a recital in London in autumn 2025. We then plan to develop it into a chamber opera to be premiered in 2026.
I recently founded and ran two pilot schemes of an expenses fund for singers in collaboration with a business. My plan is, in the near future, to use this experience to help me found a charity that awards grants to singers to help them cover the costs of auditions and competitions. If you are interested to be involved, please get in touch.

I now offer performance anxiety coaching for professionals who do not make their living as performing artists. This practice is currently in the beta phase of development and I’m actively seeking beta clients to develop the practice. If you’re interested in becoming a beta client, please click HERE for the terms & conditions, and get in touch with me via the contact form below.

I offer French repertoire language coaching for singers, as well as French language lessons. I have coached singers studying at the Royal College of Music, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
-
I teach philosophy and French at A-Level and Oxbridge entrance.
I have philosophy degrees from University of Oxford (BA Philosophy & French) and King’s College London (MA Philosophy). My areas of special interest include feminist philosophy of language, social epistemology, and the metaphysics of gender. I have written about the dynamics and parameters of silencing practices, particularly surrounding accounts of gender-based violence. I have also written on metaphor in musicology as a bridge between analytic and continental philosophical schools, and translation theory pertaining specifically to opera libretti.
See below for client testimonials:
“I wanted to thank you for all your incredible support; I've really enjoyed our sessions and the intriguing rabbit holes we got ourselves into, and have found your advice invaluable during this application process. Thanks to you, I was super happy with my personal statement and the way my interviews went!” - student with offer for philosophy at Cambridge, 2025
“Thank you so so so much for all your help - you are not just an amazing teacher but person as well…I’m so incredibly grateful for you and what you put in to help me achieve my dream” - student with offer for philosophy at Cambridge, 2024
“Rose is an incredible teacher who is not only super thorough and hardworking but so committed to your success as an individual. She can certainly teach you for a test and general knowledge if that's what you would like (we got to the point where I was consistently scoring 20/20 on a 20min Cambridge admissions test in under 3 minutes) but she is most talented at bringing to you and discussing with you articles, ideas, scholars on stuff that really interests you, and you in particular. I have a folder on my laptop of articles that she has sent me - all of which I have read and annotated to death. She knew I would love them because she was genuinely interested in me as a student and fledgling academic. I ended up getting into Cambridge and she was the first person I emailed to say thank you!” 2024
“I truly cannot thank you enough for all of the support you’ve given me over the past few months - I really can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. Thanks so much for everything, your excellent tuition and stellar emotional support” student with offer for philosophy & French at Oxford, 2023
