About Rose

A woman in a floral dress smiling outdoors in a garden, holding a flower in her mouth and raising her arms, with greenery and trees in the background.

Hello! I’m Rose, a dramatic coloratura soprano with a deep love for the operatic canon as well as a passion for creating and performing original theatre. I sing Baroque, Classical, Romantic and contemporary operatic repertoire, as well as legit musical theatre, and have done acting and voiceover work. I committed to singing after studying Philosophy at Oxford and King’s College London, and my academic studies inform the political and creative motivations of my art. I am a firm believer that opera is for everyone, and that it comes into its own in close collaboration with other art forms, performing and otherwise. I trained, and continue to have lessons, with the London Singers Studio.

I have worked with small and medium-sized companies including Opéra de Baugé, New Sussex Opera, New Palace Opera, Aylesbury Opera, Opera Greenwich and Instant Opera, and I am a regular soloist with Shoreham Oratorio Choir, among other concert performances.

In 2025, composer/pianist Marco Galvani and I premiered the recital version of our original piece, Winged Words, at the National Opera Studio in London. This piece will be developed into its staged chamber opera version for 2027, with funding from The Marchus Trust.

I recently founded and ran two pilot schemes of an expenses fund for singers in collaboration with a business. My plan is, in the future, to found a charity that awards grants to singers to help them cover the costs of auditions and competitions.

Please see below for details of my prizes and performances, past and future.
